Ten-Gallon Open-Handled Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1860, straight-sided crock with semi-rounded rim and open handles, decorated with a flowering plant bearing a large tulip and circular blossom or apple. Bold cobalt "X" brushed at base, indicating ten gallons. Outstanding size, strong decoration, and unusual open-handled form. 3" hairline at base. Restoration to reverse. H 15 1/4"
