Rare Cobalt Stencil and Freehand Decorated Stoneware Bank, Greensboro or New Geneva, PA origin, circa 1875, large-sized, dome-shaped bank with tooling and slot on top surface. Cobalt-decorated all-over with a stenciled foliate design and freehand stripes. Stenciling forms an x-shaped design over slot. Bank was damaged around the slot to remove money. Restoration to heavy chipping around slot. Approximately 3 1/2" thin crack extending from top to shoulder. Chipping to base. Faint lines in underside. H 6 1/2".
