Rare Salt-Glazed Stoneware Lid with Molded Eagle and Star Decorations, Stamped "M TYLER / ALBANY," New York State origin, circa 1840, decorated with four molded, spread-winged eagles, twelve stars, and four molded medallions with eagles on interior. Impressed "3" three times and "M. TYLER / ALBANY" along the edge. An outstanding lid. Missing knob. 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" loss to edge. 1 3/4" flake to edge on underside. Additional small chips to underside. Diameter 11 1/2".
