Extremely Rare Figural Stoneware Bank, New York State origin, circa 1850-1880, in the form of a portly man, with rotund bank forming the man's body and molded finial in the shape of a smiling man's head. Bank is incised with buttons and a jacket and man's neck is incised with a bowtie. Incising and facial features highlighted in cobalt slip. Exceptional form. Bank appears to have restoration to several cracks, including some areas of cobalt decoration. H 7".
