Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "I. SEYMOUR / TROY," New York State origin, circa 1840, decorated with a slip-trailed floral design accented with numerous cobalt spots. Some oversalting to decoration. Spout chips. 1 1/4" stacker mark on shoulder of jug. 1 1/2" manufacturing flaw on reverse. Horizontal hairline at base, extending around one side and reverse of jug. Tiny base chip. H 14 1/8".
