Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N CLARK JR / ATHENS N Y," circa 1860, straight-sided crock with applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt flowering plant design. One stem is capped with a clover-like flower, while a second, much longer stem ends in a circular flower with scalloped edge. Rim chip on reverse, and a small rim chip on front with 3 1/2" crack extending from it. A second, 4 1/4" crack from rim. 6 1/2" inverted Y-shaped crack under one handle. Large chips to one handle. H 9".
