Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Large Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "WHITES UTICA," New York State origin, circa 1865, straight-sided crock with applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed "running" bird with fan-shaped tail, turned head, and spotted body, perched atop a stylized branch. Some fry to cobalt, 2" hairline from rim, and a glazed-over handle chip. H 11 1/4".
