Five-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Cobalt Rose Decoration, Stenciled "Jas. Hamilton & Co. / Greensboro, PA.," circa 1875, straight-sided crock with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with large stenciled rose designs flanking James Hamilton maker's stenciling and a large stenciled "5". Cobalt stripes at the base and below the rim. 8 1/2" inverted Y-shaped line on front. Chip to each handle. Small chip to shoulder molding. H 15".
