Two-Gallon Stoneware Advertising Jug, Stamped "C. HAIDLE & CO. / UNION POTTERY, / NEWARK, N.J.," circa 1870, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout and applied handle, slip-trailed in cobalt with the advertising "Kane & Mangels / 24 & 26 Union. St. / Brooklyn N.Y." Cobalt "2" above maker's mark. Professional restoration to spout chip. Flecked wear to surface here and there. Small glazed-over base chip. H 14 1/2".
