Glazed Redware Jug, New England origin, early 19th century, ovoid jug with combed shoulder, short spout, and applied handle, covered in a lead and iron glaze. Unusual speckled reddish glaze with yellowish streaks. Two chips and wear to spout. Wear to edges of handle. Base chips and wear to underside. 3" diagonal hairline at base, continuing 2 1/2" onto underside. Some flaking to reverse and small spots of glaze loss here and there. H 8 3/4".
