Rare Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Starface Decoration, Stamped "LYONS," attributed to Thompson Harrington, circa 1860, straight-sided jar with rounded shoulder, flared and tooled collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a face surrounded by eight slip-trailed rays. Slip-trailed "3" above decoration. Rim chip. Small chips on interior where a lid would rest. Two short lines on interior of rim, which do not go through to exterior. H 12 1/2".
