Exceptional Large-Sized Redware Flowerpot with Sponged Manganese Decoration, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO," circa 1860, tapered flowerpot with rounded rim, attached to a saucer with tooled foot and rounded rim. Surface decorated with rows of manganese sponging and lead glaze over yellowish clay. Impressed with John Bell maker's mark on underside. Outstanding color and condition. Lightly-used, near mint condition. H 7 1/4" ; Diameter 8 1/4".
