Rare One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Milkpan, Stamped "B.C. MILBURN / ALEXA," Alexandria, VA origin, circa 1850, flaring pan form with tab handles, incised lines below rim, and drooping pouring spout, decorated with a bright cobalt floral design consisting of a central flower flanked by two smaller blossoms. Reverse decorated with a series of cobalt swags. Impressed with Milburn maker's mark under one handle. A rare form in Alexandria stoneware. Small spout chips. One rim chip. H 4" ; Diameter 11".
