Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Jar, Stamped "S. BELL & SON / STRASBURG," circa 1890, ovoid jar decorated with alternating splotches of green and brown glazes over a whitish slip. Clear lead overglaze. Impressed with Samuel Bell and Sons maker"s mark lightly below rim. Excellent color. Hole drilled in underside. Wear to glaze. H 8 1/4".
