Very Rare One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Quantico, MD, Advertising and Cobalt Decoration, Baltimore, MD, origin, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with flared foot and short collar, impressed "A. W. CROSLEE / DEALER IN / DRY GOODS" GROCERIES & C / QUANTICO. MD.". Impressed advertising surrounded by a brushed cobalt wreath. Brushed cobalt swags flanking spout. Handle terminals brushed with cobalt. One of a few stoneware pitchers known with Eastern Shore of Maryland advertising. Spider crack on underside with one crack extending 6" up back of pitcher. H 10 1/2".
