Rare Stoneware Bank with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Remmey Pottery, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1860, bulbous form with foot, shoulder incising, and tooled finial with ball-shaped tip, decorated on the front with two cobalt flowers, and on the reverse with a horizontal leaf design. Brushwork around slot. Finial decorated with cobalt. A highly desirable form with strong decoration. Base chips. Wear to slot. Small chip on molding at middle of finial. Salt drip on reverse. Height 5 5/8".
