Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug w/ Cobalt Rabbit Decoration, attributed to Julius Norton, Bennington, VT., circa 1840, highly ovoid jug with ribbed handle, decorated with a leaping cobalt rabbit above floral brushwork. Impressed "2" below spout highlighted in cobalt. A difficult-to-find, early Norton decoration. Chipping to base. Height 13 5/8".
