Scarce 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher, Stenciled "A.P. Donaghho, / Parkersburg, W.Va.," circa 1875, nicely formed pitcher with flaring collar and tooling at the rim and where collar meets the body. Donaghho mark stenciled on a diagonal across the front. Large freehand lines of cobalt at the base and below the collar. Wavy freehand line above the maker"s stenciling. Additional freehand brushwork to the spout and rim, and a crescent of blue at the top of the handle. Shallow rim chips and 4 1/2" vertical crack to left of spout. Height 8 1/4".
