Outstanding Stoneware Bank with Heavy Blue Decoration, attributed to Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, circa 1870, ovoid form with rounded foot, bell-shaped finial, and vertical slot carved into the clay near top. Decorated top to bottom with two large flowers with tall, leafy stems. Reverse decorated with a cobalt leaf. Finial and coin slot highlighted in cobalt. One of the most coveted stoneware forms by one of the nation"s most prominent potting families. Excellent condition with wear to slot. Height to finial 7 3/8".
