Two Civil War Ambrotypes and a 19th Century Daguerreotype, an ambrotype depicting a Union soldier in excellent detail, with US belt buckle, a pistol and another gun at his waist, and a strap with plate across chest. Gold-painted highlights to belt buckle, strap plate, and buttons on jacket and hat, and pinkish highlights to cheeks; another ambrotype depicting a Civil War soldier against a river backdrop with sailboat, with gold-painted highlights to buttons, hat, and epaulettes, as well as pinkish highlights to cheeks; and a daguerreotype depicting Capt. John Nilson (or Wilson) and his wife, Rebecca. All enclosed within brown cases featuring raised floral and foliate designs. Cover loose on soldier with sailboat backdrop. Some small spots to surface of daguerreotype of couple. All in otherwise excellent condition. H (of ambrotype case) 3" ; H (of daguerreotype case) 4 3/4".
