Extremely Rare Signed Copy of Ulysses by James Joyce, Illustrated By Henri Matisse, Signed by Joyce and Matisse, Limited Editions Club, New York, 1935, including etchings depicting the Calypso, Aeolus, Cyclops, Nausicaa, Circe, and Ithaca episodes; features the signature of the author, James Joyce, and illustrator Henri Matisse, at the end of the book, along with the copy number, 731 out of 1500. This example, signed by both Joyce and Matisse, is exceptionally rare, as only 150 such copies were produced. Provenance: Purchased by the consignor's uncle from the Limited Editions Club in 1935, and never offered for sale. Some staining and edge wear to book case. Book in excellent condition with light discoloration to inner edge of final few blank pages where the pages meet the spine.
