Very Fine Early Yellowlegs Decoy, Massachusetts origin, late 19th century, with glass eyes and delicately-carved body including a split tail and carved wings, the surface in original finely-detailed paint. Deeply-carved "S" in underside. Provenance: Recently found in a Maryland home. Loss to tip of original bill. Some shot marks to one side. Original paint has remarkably survived in excellent condition. Length 10".
