This one-gallon stoneware jar is stenciled across the front , Haught & Co Shinnston W.Va An interesting detail about the jar is a cobalt band, which precedes the stenciling ", Haught". This band apparently covers the name of Haught's partner, presumably "Knox," as "Knox, Haught, & Co," pieces exist. It is likely that this jar was made shortly after the partnership of Knox and Haught was defunct, and the stenciling had yet to be changed. An interesting and possibly quite rare WVa piece.

9 ¼" tall.

Condition:

Y-shaped line at base, extending to underside. Wear on bottom interior.
