Rare Advertising Jug, att. Donaghho / Parkersburg, W.Va.

Back to Pennsylvania Stoneware

Item #WPXG01

Description:

This stoneware jug was undoubtedly made by A.P. Donaghho of Parkersburg, WV, and is stencilled on the front,

Parkersburg, W. Va.

It was very unusual for Donaghho to produce stoneware stencilled with a name other than his own. This piece would make an interesting addition to a West Virginia stoneware collection. Made c1870.

10" tall.

Condition:

A crack extends from about 2" above the name, down the side, and splits into a tight Y on the bottom. A chip on the lip, which is clearly glazed over and happened in the making.
