| Description: |
Very striking 1 gallon stoneware pitcher, decorated with 2 large bell flowers, a flower bud and foliage. The spout and entire collar are profusely decorated all around with very stylistic swags. A nicely executed line is incised at the shoulder and at the base. This pitcher was made c1855 and is attributed to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. |

Condition: |

1 very tiny nick on the spout and a couple of very tiny nicks on the rim. 1 shallow chip on top of rim and 1 small flake on lower flower. There are 2 very tight lines on the handle; these indicate that it was evidently off of the pitcher at one time and has since been reglued. Very folky, expertly thrown and decorated pitcher! |
