This one gallon, ovoid jar exhibits characteristics of pieces made at the Lowndes pottery of Petersburg, VA, in the second quarter of the nineteenth century. Stylized, stemmed flowers decorate the front and back, and the sides of the handles are accented in cobalt as well. |
