Unsigned Shenandoah Valley Pitcher |

Back to Virginia Stoneware |
Item #SXP01 |
|||
| Description: |
3 bright cobalt blue flowers and swags decorate the shoulder of this pitcher. The collar is also decorated on both sides, as well as the spout from top to bottom. Large blue rings decorate the handle. This pitcher was made in Strasburg, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley, c1870, probably by Sonner. Decorated Valley of Virginia stoneware pitchers are highly collectible and have always been difficult to find. This one is very striking and appealing, especially for collectors of Virginia pottery. If this piece were stamped by the maker, the price would be 2 to 3 times the price of this one. |
