Signed Shenandoah Valley pitchers have always been very difficult to find. In recent years, only a small number have been offered for sale and as time goes on, these utilitarian wares will become harder and harder to find. This pitcher is an especially desirable, small, half gallon size. It is decorated around the entire collar and shoulder with very typical Bell pottery decoration, with a full flower hanging down the front. The handle is also decorated, not only at the ends, but over the entire handle, an extra feature not usually seen on stoneware pitchers. The impressed maker's mark is deeply impressed on the shoulder, as follows:
