Unusual 1 Gal. D.P. SHENFELDER, Reading PA. Cream Jar

Back to Pennsylvania Stoneware

Item #PXSJ01

Description:

2 gallon cream jar, deeply impressed upside down,

D.P. SHENFELDER
READING PA.

with a backwards 1 gallon capacity mark. Very large sideways full flower. The large majority of decorated Shenfelder stoneware pieces are decorated with a long, thin, arching flower. This decoration is extremely unusual for this potter. The cream jar form is also unusual for the Shenfelder Pottery, as is the upside-down maker's mark. Needless to say, this piece would make a great addition to any collection.

Size:

8" tall.

Condition:

Just about original, mint condition.
