Item #PXJ01 |

| Description: |
This ovoid stoneware jar, whose maker is as yet unknown, was probably made in Pennsylvania circa 1850 to 1860. It is very large, measuring approximately eight gallons, and is decorated on the front and back with a cobalt swag and flower motif. Below each handle are two rows of cobalt garlands, with the lower garland having a stemmed flower hanging from it. This is the largest jar of its type we have seen, and the only one with such elaborate decoration under the handles. A super piece for those interested in ovoids or oversized pieces. |
