Item #PXHK01 |

| Description: |
See Comstock pp. 160-61 for pieces attributable to Jacob Heart. This well-executed redware bank was found in a home in Chambersburg, PA, the town in which Heart potted. It is attributable to him based on the color of the glaze and overall style, both of which are very typical of his work. Note the coggle band decoration encircling the top, as well as the nicely shaped finial. Heart worked c1820-60 and was a major influence on John Bell in his early years. Redware that can be attributed to him is very rare. |
