Description:

This approximately one gallon stoneware jar is stamped below the rim

J.M HARRIS,
EASTON, PA

It was made at the Harris Pottery of Easton, PA, circa 1870. The front is decorated with a stylized flower head design and the maker's mark is highlighted in cobalt. The interior is glazed with albany slip. This example comes with its original salt-glazed stoneware lid. Easton, PA, stoneware marks are not easy to come by.

Size:

9" tall, w/o lid.

Condition:

Excellent condition. Two small rim chips. Minor wear on interior. One small, and two very small, lid chips.
