Item #PHRP01 |

| Description: |
Extremely bright, almost electric cobalt blue floral decoration on this 5 quart milk pitcher. 2 huge tulips decorate the front with stylized leaves decorating the collar; handle ends also decorated. A single flower with leaves and stem decorates the entire spout. A series of incised lines also decorates the collar. Super bulbous shape and very well done foot, with deeply incised line. This pitcher holds 5 quarts, putting it between the 1 gallon and 1 ½ gallon size. This size is very unusual and judging by the outstanding decoration may have been a special order item. Definitely made at the Richard C. Remmey in Philadelphia, PA., c1860. |
