Description:

This 2 gallon stoneware storage jug is beautifully decorated with 2 heavily slip-trailed, crossed love birds and impressed in large letters,

The name is washed over in blue and two large slip-trailed 2's decorate the front of the jug--one next to, and the other beneath, the birds. The detailing is outstanding and the blue is very heavily applied, with extra touches on the body and wings of the birds. The maker's mark is that of Samuel Hart, working in Fulton, New York, from 1832 to 1878.

Size:

12 ½" tall.

Condition:

Overall excellent condition, with only one chip on the top of the rim and one on the edge of the base.
