Item #NJOG01 |

| Description: |
This small sized jug was made in New Jersey, New York or Philadelphia in the first quarter of the nineteenth century. It was probably made at the Old Bridge, NJ, pottery of James Morgan, Jacob van Wickle, and Branch Green, circa 1805-23. It is skillfully thrown, with an ovoid body and elaborately tooled rim. Three large dabs of cobalt decorate the midsection. The shape of the spout, tooling, and overall form of the jug, are quite similar to jugs with various liquor names made at the Old Bridge pottery. |
