Description:

This 2 gallon stoneware table pitcher is decorated with a large cobalt blue 2 and three extra flourishes surrounding the impressed potter's mark

It was made circa 1870. The shape and the thick, protruding rim are typical of pitchers made at this pottery.

Size:

13" tall.

Condition:

An upside down, Y-shaped crack to the right of the spout and extending down nearly to the incised line below the blue 2 has been expertly restored. Other than that, a few tiny rim nicks and a couple of small chips on the bottom.
