Description:

This 2 gallon, salt-glazed stoneware jug is stamped across the front "CHARLESTOWN," above two impressed hearts. This piece was made at the pottery of Barnabus Edmands and William Burroughs in Charlestown Massachusetts, sometime during or after 1821. Nice early form with an interesting design.

Size:

15 ½" tall.

Condition:

Chipping to base. In-the-making mottling to clay on left side and back.
