This unusual, bowl-shaped stoneware jar is stamped deeply by the rim,

JOHN BELL
WAYNESBORO

It was made at the John Bell pottery of Waynesboro, PA, circa 1850 to 1880. It is decorated around the entire circumference with four groups of the dotted tulip motif that John Bell has become known for. Excellent color contrast between the clay and cobalt. A beautiful piece of signed John Bell pottery.

Size:

6 3/8" tall x 8 1/2" wide at top.

Condition:

Near Mint Condition. One very thin, almost invisible line descending vertically from rim.
