Description:

This small-sized, one gallon storage jar is profusely decorated on the front and back with strong, bright cobalt blue flowers. Both handles are also elaborately decorated with bright cobalt blue. The size is very desirable and unusually small. It is well-thrown with a nicely formed collar and incised line connecting the ears. This unusual jar was made in Baltimore, Maryland, c1840.

Size:
9 ¾" tall.

Condition:

A series of chips and nicks on one of the handles. One small chip on the other handle. A thin, tight line that runs across the bottom and up the side 2" is in the glaze only and does not go through. 2 or 3 of the usual tiny rim chips.
