Description:

Great looking 3 gallon stoneware storage jar, most like made by John B. Swann, working at the Wilkes Street Pottery in Alexandria, VA. c1815. The top part of this very heavy piece is decorated with an unusual manganese decoration. Super early form.

Size:

14" tall.

Condition:

Deep rim chips. Extensive base chipping. Tight lines on side and bottom. Rings perfectly when struck with the knuckles.
